One of my best friends moved back home to what feels like the opposite side of the world and when she left us, her tight group of besties and I united to keep our friendship growing and keep a piece of Ariel with us on the west coast. In December of 2024, we were brunching when I was asked “What do you like to do during the winter?”, to which I answered (I’m sure you can guess it), “Read!”. Of course the follow-up from the group was “What are you reading now?” which devolved into a whole conversation about smut and how we should start a Smut Book Club. Here we are, 6 months and 6 books later and wooowweee we’ve read some chefs fuckin kiss books and some literal hot garbage. We (SC) have all agreed that Blood of Hercules and B&B are perfection and the authors can do no wrong, so much so that I got everyone to read Jasmine’s other series (Cruel Shifterverse) and the rest of The Ruinous Love Trilogy in their free time. ALSO, since Caught Up just came out, that’s our bonus book of the month cause holy shit…. Lights Out was bonkers good and so laugh out loud funny. On the flip side…. we can’t warn you enough- do not read Toxic. It was beyond toxic (lol) and none of us even remotely enjoyed it. I’m so sorry, I hate not saying even one thing nice but dayummmmmm that was bad. Drop a comment if you’ve read any of these and if you enjoyed ’em!
Check back in every month for the SC book of the month and happy reading! ❤
